Well Kneaded, founded in Battersea in 2011, is a social enterprise headed up by husband and wife team Laurence and Bridget, which champions sustainability. It combines an obsession with the sustainable creation of a sourdough pizza centred menu, with a vision to bring transformation to local young folk who have faced disadvantage.
To better support our work with young people, in 2023, the WK Foundation was born. As a registered charity, the WK Foundation is dedicated to empowering young people facing disadvantage by providing them with comprehensive hospitality training internships, founded on our governing principles of environmental sustainability within Christian values.
Our mission is to equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to pursue successful careers in the hospitality industry, or indeed a different industry- thereby breaking the cycle of poverty and opening doors for them to a brighter future.

How do we plan to change the lives of young people in London? We offer structured hospitality training internships that combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
Our services include:
-
Classroom-based training: Participants receive instruction on various aspects of the hospitality industry, such as customer service, food preparation, hygiene standards, and management skills.

-
Hands-on experience: Interns gain practical experience by working in our partner establishment, Well Kneaded Ltd, both within the restaurant and also the event and catering services fields. Interns rotate through different departments to develop a well-rounded skill set.

-
Mentoring and support: Each intern is assigned a mentor who provides guidance, support, and career advice throughout the internship. We will also offer counselling, coaching and assistance with job placement after completion.

WK Foundation is committed to providing young people facing disadvantage with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in the hospitality industry, this includes both ‘soft’ and technical skills. Through our comprehensive training internships, we aim to break down barriers, empower individuals, and create a positive impact on their lives.
